How creativity and environmental awareness go hand in hand at FUNmer Camp
FUNmer Camp was designed not just as a space for fun and learning, but also as a living example of responsible and sustainable practices. Every small decision during the camp was an opportunity to demonstrate how creativity and environmental awareness can go hand in hand.
One of the most visible initiatives was the use of discarded cardboard sheets collected from local printing shops. These sheets were originally used to transport paper bundles from industries and would usually end up as waste.
Instead of letting them go unused, the camp team transformed them into standees that were placed across cafeterias and common spaces in different parts of Technopark. These standees held our informational flyers and became a major attraction for visitors.
More importantly, they showed how simple reuse ideas can replace conventional advertising materials that often become waste after events.
Another thoughtful practice involved repurposing misprinted and damaged certificates. Printing errors and correction copies are usually discarded, but at FUNmer Camp they found a second life.
These sheets were creatively reused for games, activity materials, decorations, and various craft-based learning exercises throughout the camp.
Participants could clearly see how something considered waste could easily be converted into something useful with a little imagination.
These small but meaningful actions sparked conversations among participants. Children, volunteers, and visitors began to look at everyday waste differently. Instead of seeing it as something to throw away, they started seeing possibilities — materials that could be reused, redesigned, and reimagined.
Through these initiatives, FUNmer Camp aimed to go beyond simply talking about sustainability. The camp became a hands-on demonstration of how environmentally conscious choices can be integrated into everyday activities, inspiring participants to carry these ideas into their own homes, schools, and communities.
FUNmer Camp is dedicated to operating in an environmentally responsible manner. We continuously evaluate and improve our practices to minimize our environmental footprint while maximizing the positive impact we have on children's environmental awareness. Every activity is designed not just to be fun and educational, but also to instill a deep respect and care for our natural world.
Join us in teaching children to care for our planet while having fun and learning.
